Linda J. Olsen
Linda J. Olsen is a graduate of Duquesne University (B.S., summa cum laude, 2001) and The Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University (J.D.2004). Prior to joining Hazen Law Group LLC, Ms. Olsen was an associate with a small Harrisburg law firm practicing in the areas of estate planning, estate administration, administrative law, business planning, and civil litigation. During law school, she served a student internship as a judicial clerk with the Honorable Sylvia H. Rambo, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Olsen was also named as Public Interest Advocate by The Miller Center for Public Interest Advocacy and worked as a summer associate at MidPenn Legal Services in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Olsen was the recipient of the National Association of Women Lawyers’ award as The Outstanding Woman Law Graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law for the year 2004 and the 2004 Montgomery and MacRae Award for academic achievement by a non-traditional student in Administrative Law. She served as an Articles Editor for the Penn State International Law Review and authored a comment entitled, “Live or Let Die: Could Intercountry Adoption Make the Difference?” 22 PENN STATE INT’L L.REV. 483 (Winter 2004). Ms. Olsen was the recipient of CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for academic achievement in Comparative Corporate Law, State and Local Taxation, Property Rights Seminar, and Advanced Pre-Trial Advocacy. She was student coordinator for the law school’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, which received the American Bar Association’s Best Continuing Site Award for 2004, and was also a member of Dickinson’s Appellate Moot Court Board.
Ms. Olsen is admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and its Gay and Lesbian Rights Committee, and the Dauphin County Bar Association. She is currently serving as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates for Zone 3. Ms. Olsen is also a member of The Honorable William W. Lipsitt American Inn of Court.
Ms. Olsen has authored articles and been a lecturer at seminars on estate planning, estate administration and real estate, including: “When All Hope for Recovery is Gone, Whose Decision Will Be Honored?”, VOICE, official publication of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, and on PSEA Website, Summer, 2005; “Preparing for and Attending the Closing”, author and presenter for HalfMoon LLC CLE Presentation, 2005; “Estate Planning Issues for Family Lawyers”, in PBI Publication A Family of Laws for the Family Lawyer, co-author and co-presenter, 2006.
Linda is a strong advocate for diversity and equality and brings real-life experience, beyond the classroom, to every area of her practice of law and representation of clients. As a member of the Hazen Law Group LLC, she concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, estate administration and guardianships.
